I also find posts like this very interesting. One of the downsides (for me) with the traditional publishing route is I don’t have as much access to numbers as I would like. I like all the numbers! And seeing behind the scenes stuff like this from other authors is always super interesting to me.

Thanks Julie! Having access to the data is definitely one of the things I've enjoyed about driving this whole project myself. Still, it's frustrating how little information some of these services give you when the data is all right there and would be so easy to share!

Thank you for putting some numbers to this whole process! My brain appreciates some good statistics along with being creative for art's sake. I mean after all, not everything can be an incorporeal study of

what running through marshmallows in my dream last night means.

Hi Carlos

I was wondering, since you're an engineer and all, should "shit tons" be hyphenated, like "shit-tons"? Or would that be only when it is used as a unit of production, such as "shit-tons/fortnight"? Yeah, that looks better. Thanks, I answered my own question.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention, Mark! Definitely going to start using shit-tons/fortnight as a unit of productivity from now on. The only question is, tons or metric tons?

American short tons, of course. None of those commie metric tonnes for me!

Also, short tons are a simple 2,000 pounds, while metric tons are 2,204.623 pounds. Who can remember that? Not me! I had to googly it. Baffles me why they would pick such an uneven amount, who do those "metrics" think they are, anyway?? By the way, my dog agrees with me, so I know I'm right.
