Wizardstack is Pleased to Welcome the Pro-Voldemort Newsletter, Death Eater Daily
Because servants of The Dark Lord have a right to express their views, too
“Substack has not only been hosting writers who post overtly Nazi rhetoric on the platform; it profits from many of them.” — The Atlantic, 11/28/23
“We believe that supporting individual rights and civil liberties while subjecting ideas to open discourse is the best way to strip bad ideas of their power. We are committed to upholding and protecting freedom of expression, even when it hurts.” — Hamish McKenzie, Substack Co-Founder, 12/21/23
Since its inception, Wizardstack has proven to be a valuable alternative to legacy publications such as The Daily Prophet and The Quibbler. Part of Wizardstack’s success is due to our commitment to freedom of expression, making us a safe harbor for voices that have been driven off of other platforms. That is why Wizardstack is thrilled to welcome the Pro-Voldemort newsletter, Death Eater Daily.
Here at Wizardstack, we believe all witches and wizards have a right to free speech, no matter how “abhorrent” or “factually incorrect” that speech may be. That’s why we stand firmly by Death Eater Daily, even when they post arguments about how the wizarding world has gotten “way too diverse” and cite studies about how muggle-borns are “more likely to rely on the Ministry of Magic for financial assistance.” Sure, those studies all come from books like Gilderoy Lockhart’s infamous “The 100% Honest, Not Made Up At All Truth About Muggles.” And sure, their arguments do seem to strongly imply that the wizarding world should get rid of said muggle-born wizards. But that doesn’t mean Death Eater Daily shouldn’t be allowed to pass off widely discredited evidence as facts in their case for pure-blooded wizarding supremacy.
As for the notion that Death Eater Daily is an openly genocidal publication, we at Wizardstack have failed to find any evidence that they’ve violated our policies against incitement to violence. Yes, Death Eater Daily frequently discusses “The Muggle Question” in their newsletter. And, yes, that question is: “Should we kill all muggle-born witches and wizards?” But it’s important to remember that Death Eater Daily always phrases discussions about mass murder in the form of a question. There’s a huge difference between “Should we kill all muggle-born witches and wizards?” and “We should kill all muggle-born witches and wizards.” So unless Death Eater Daily re-words those interrogatives, we don’t see how simply asking whether a certain group of people has the right to exist could be considered genocidal.
On a similar note, there have been complaints that Death Eater Daily uses The Dark Mark as it’s newsletter’s logo and frequently posts artistic renderings of Lord Voldemort — either striking triumphant poses atop piles of dead Aurors, or casting what appears to be the Avada Kedavra curse towards large crowds of muggles. While it might seem like glorifying a dark wizard famous for attempting to rid the world of all muggle-borns would violate Wizardstack’s policies, this is not the case. The example below shows what is and isn’t acceptable per our content guidelines:
Though Wizardstack is committed to free speech, we do moderate some content on our platform. It goes without saying that any adult material such as wand play, x-rated charms, or fairy fetish videos will be instantly removed. We consider consenting witches and wizards of age without robes on to be a far greater threat to the wizarding world than the occasional newsletter post indirectly calling for the extermination of “blood diluters.”
Living in a society with freedom of expression sometimes means tolerating views that make us uncomfortable. Or that call into question whether we should be alive. While it isn’t easy putting up with people who wish you were dead, it’s a sacrifice we must all make in order to live in a fair, uncensored wizarding world. And nobody is more willing to make that sacrifice than us here at Wizardstack. When Death Eater Daily asked if they could bring their 20,000 subscribers at 10 galleons a month over to our platform, we thought, “Hmmm, I don’t know about this.” But, ultimately, we made the difficult decision that accepting their views (and their galleons) was well worth it if it meant the wizarding world would be just a little bit freer. Our biggest investor, Lucius Malfoy, was particularly adamant about giving Death Eater Daily a new place to call home, and we commend his bravery in standing up for free speech.
We know not everyone will agree with our decision. But we firmly believe that Wizardstack is the future of wizarding publications, and that Wizardstack will succeed where other platforms have failed. If you want to understand why moderating content is a terrible idea, look no further than platforms like Witchstagram or Hex (formerly Hoot). If Wizardstack were to begin moderating so-called extremist, pure-blood supremacist content, the site would instantly devolve into copycats of those other platforms, regardless of how fundamentally different our business model and UI may be. Sadly, it’s one or the other. There is no better, third option.
If you’re not a fan of pure-blood supremacist content, the good news is that Wizardstack only serves you newsletters from the accounts you subscribe to. So if you don’t want to read, say, Death Eater Daily’s newest section, Mudblood Marauders: How Genetically Inferior DNA Is Poisoning The Wizarding Well, you don’t have to. That’s the beauty of Wizardstack. Content you don’t agree with will never affect you in the slightest. Unless something completely unprecedented were to happen, like, say, if a Death Eater Daily reader were to pick up their wand and go on a gruesome killing spree. And even then it would be impossible to prove (at least in Wizengamot) that the newsletter was what drove them to commit those unspeakable murders.
That’s why we’re keeping Wizardstack just the way it is — a place where all witches and wizards can flourish, even the ones with openly hostile attitudes whose views are stuck in the 12th century. We believe sunlight is the best disinfectant. So if pure-blood supremacist views really are that bad, we have no doubt they will soon cease to be popular, regardless of how popular they may have been back when Voldemort was trying to take over the wizard world.
So, to everyone using Wizardstack, please continue to enjoy our open, uncensored platform always and forever.
Unless, of course, Voldemort returns, in which case he will probably take over Wizardstack and immediately ban any views that don’t align with his.

Totally on point and gave me quite the magical chuckle.
